Meet Jill Weber: CASA Cards for a Cause Artist

We asked friends, families, and supporters of CASA to generously submit any original artwork they thought would make a great greeting card. We were graciously overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from everyone: 70 artists submitted over 100 pieces to the fundraiser. Meet Jill Weber: one of the 19 artists whose piece was chosen to help benefit victimized children in New Hampshire.

Jill Weber is a long-time artist and illustrator located in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. She has been creating art for as long as she can remember. From illustrating children’s books to teaching courses at New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA), her busy schedule didn’t stop her from submitting pieces to our fundraiser and she was more than thrilled to hear that we picked two of her pieces. “HoHoHo, Peace & Joy” is a perfect addition to this year’s holiday variety pack. Her piece other piece, “Happy Mother’s Day”, will be sold as a twenty pack as well as in a variety pack of other floral pieces. To learn about her passions, we asked Jill a few questions:

CASA: Tell us about yourself! What is your background? Do you primarily create art or do you have other hobbies/careers?
JILL: I am a book illustrator and designer with a small studio here in New Hampshire. I also teach Illustration at the Institute of Art & Design at New England College. My garden is my other passion, and I love cooking what I grow.

CASA: How long have you been creating art? How were you introduced to this craft?
JILL: I have been creating art my whole life. My father was an artist as is my brother.

CASA: Do you have a process you typically use to generate new ideas?
JILL: As an illustrator, I usually have the task of telling the author’s story in pictures.

CASA: What are three words you would use to describe your artistic style? JILL: Colorful, lively, and mixed media

CASA: Do you have any influencers in the art industry that you particularly enjoy?
JILL: Almost too many to mention—Bonnard, David Hockney, Maira Kalman, Alice and Martin Provenson.

CASA: Do you have a website or a business that you would like to share with the readers?
JILL
frajilfarms.com is my website.

CASA: What is your affiliation with CASA?
JILL: I am new to Casa, but think it is a wonderful cause to which I am very happy to contribute

Thank you to Jill and every other artist who submitted to the CASA Cards for a Cause Fundraiser. This fundraiser is yet another way ordinary people can make extraordinary efforts in combating child abuse and neglect in New Hampshire. There are so many way to help, so thank all of you who have done so.
