CASA Snowfest at Loon Mountain 2008
The CASA Snowfest was held on Friday, February 8 on the slopes of Loon Mountain in Lincoln, New Hampshire to raise funds and awareness for New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children.
Special thanks to our wonderful committee: David Eby, Joann Neumann, Claudette Gurley, Sue Ford, Megan Brady, Kay Anderson and Katie Ross.
Hosted by members of WOKQ’s Morning Waking Crew, Mark Ericson and Danielle Carrier, and WMUR-TV9’s own Sean McDonald, the event was a great success! Participants had the opportunity to “race” their way down the Coolidge Street trail, competing for awards. The following awards were given:
- Bode Miller Award for Fastest Male: John DeWispelaere
- Picabo Street Award for Fastest Female: Bridget Freudenberger
- Snail Male Award: Matthew Stearns
- Cindy Slowdown Award: Kristen Razza-Crowley
- 1st Place Team: BAE Systems Team 1
- 2nd Place Team: McLane Law Firm
- 3rd Place Team: BAE Systems Team 2
The festivities continued throughout the day with a chance to enter a great raffle featuring new Rossignol skis and a weekend stay at the Mountain View Grand Hotel among other gift certificates and prizes. A wonderful lunch was provided courtesy of The Common Man Restaurants and Amoskeag Beverages. The day ended with an après ski party and awards presentation, also sponsored by The Common Man Restaurants.
In total, CASA was able to raise close to $20,000 thanks to our major sponsors:
- Gold Sponsor: The Rowley Agency
- Silver Sponsors: BAE Systems, Devine, Millimet & Branch, and Harvey Construction
Loon Mountain Recreation Corporation, WOKQ 97.5, WMUR-TV9, The Common Man Restaurants, The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel, SFC Engineering, Rossignol Skis, Envirotote and Amoskeag Beverages provided wonderful inkind services and donations.
All proceeds raised through the CASA Snowfest go directly to support the CASA program in New Hampshire and our mission to give each of New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children a voice in court.
