CASA’s 10th Annual SnowFest-Return to SnowGolf
CASA OF NH NEWS — (Feb 07, 2010) —
On Friday, February 5th Loon Mountain graciously hosted CASA’s 10th Annual SnowFest to raise funds and awareness for New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children. This year, CASA’s SnowFest returned to SnowGolf. Mark Ericson of WOKQ’s Morning Waking Crew, and WMUR-TV9’s Amy Coveno, joined in the fun and helped to create a successful event! Once again this year, the Common Man Restaurant, catered a lunch fit for hungry skiers.
Loon’s Blue Ox Trail was transformed into a 9-hole golf course where 11 foursomes completed for the coveted first place trophy. The winning golf team, “Team St. Mary’s Jones,” edged out a four-way tie for second between the Manchester Firefighters, Amoskeag Rugby, The Rowley Agency and DSCI Corp. Heartfelt thanks to all who participated in SnowGolf and to the many individuals who skied to support CASA.
CASA raised roughly $15,000 through SnowGolf team and individual sponsorships as well as raffle ticket purchases. This brings the total fundraising dollars from the last ten years of partnership with Loon up to roughly $115,000.
“Over the years, the event has taken on different looks, but the mission, purpose and spirit has never changed,” said CASA President and CEO, Marcia Sink. “The funds we have raised have helped CASA serve more of the states children who need a strong advocate by their side.
In addition to our fundraising event, Loon Mountain also opened the mountain to CASA volunteers and their families for a cost free day of skiing, snowboarding, tubing and many other family activities. 79 volunteers and their families, totaling 192 people, filled the mountain with CASA energy. Our sincere thanks to Loon Mountain for recognizing CASA’s wonderful volunteers who give tirelessly to advocate for NH’s children in need.
