CASA received a special donation from the Mayhew Program this month. The Mayhew Program challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. Boys who attend the Mayhew month long residential summer program on Newfound Lake earn “Mayhew money” through work projects such as clearing trails and rowing the garbage off the island.
This year, the boys were given the option to donate some of their “Mayhew money” to CASA rather than cash it in at the Mayhew store for toys or souvenirs. In total, they donated $361. Jim O’Brien, Mayhew’s community outreach coordinator and three of the boys who attended the program and presented the check to CASA on October 5th.
